Where is the govt. machinery to control the price being charged from the shopkeepers for groceries/ flesh & vegetable?

Who is supposed to control the prices of Groceries, Edible items & prices of Flesh such as Chicken, Beef & Mutton & Vegetables charged by the Seller from the Buyers in Karachi?

Customer wants ‘’concerned authorities action against traders’’ who are involved in unjustified price hikes of grocery items.

The Government Authorities are bound to ensure the ‘’price control management’’ in their area falls under their jurisdiction. And under whose ministry the price control managements works?

The angry customer is asking PTI administration why to silent instead to do some good work for general people by the sitting ministers who got votes for change in terms of general people living condition and the condition relevant to the common man.

It needs regular visits & raids in the market – checking the price prevailing if charging excess – on the spot put  heavy penalties & confiscate their goods as a punishment – must be imposed aiming to give them [shopkeepers] a lesson to amend their behavior for unnecessary price hiking-practices & giving bad impression & vilifying the govt. sarcastically saying “TABDELI AA GA EE HAY’’.

Such criminals deserve to be prosecuted, awarding six months in jail and heavy penalty – one or both as the case may be to correct the Shopkeepers mentality.

Shopkeepers/ Vendors are demanding high prices for petty edibles of daily use without any justification. They are at liberty to raise prices of any product they want – whenever they want and no authority seems to stop them.

One of the customer informed that price of CHICKEN MEAT [slaughtered chicken] INSIDE MOHALLAH/ LOCALITY BEING SOLD AT RS 340/= PER KG WHILE THE SAME CHICKEN MEAT IS BEING SOLD IN AL JADEED SUPER MARKET UNIVERSITY ROAD MAUSMEYAT KARACHI AT RS 500/- PER KG – THIS IS THE RATE OF THE VERY 1ST DAY OF RAMADAN

THE MUTTON IS BEING SOLD AT RS 1450/- PER KG IN THE SAME MALL WHILE IN IN THE NORMAL MARKET IT IS BEING SOLD AT RS 1100/- PER KG – BEEF BONELESS BEING SOLD AT RS 785/- PER KG WHEREAS IN NORMAL MARKET IT IS RS 550/=PER KG.

Infuriated house wife said that the shopkeepers do not have any solid or satisfying reason for ripping people off and simply blames the government.

One grocery market goer said that he thought traders were compelled to raise grocery prices as fuel prices were gradually increasing, enhancing the cost of edibles.

The job of authority not to sit as silent spectators but must entail necessary accompaniment the ‘’daily rate list’’ provided by the local authorities to every shopkeepers/ retailers.

Why Market Committee Chairman does not ensure ‘’Rate lists’’ available with every ‘’Seller’’ on weekly basis and especially whenever the government raises the prices of petroleum products?

The team must be deployed to check the growing insanity in the market creating false price hike.

Due diligence from ‘’Marketing Screening Team’’ certainly required against profiteers and the City Magistrate – Assistant Commissioners & Deputy Commissioners are bound to keep a strict check on edibles quality and to control the prices’’.

And who is behind them [too] if they are not performing their SOP the given job description rather just sitting in closed cubicle with air-con and has given freehand to the Shopkeepers to grind the buyers, asked by a retired professor who went to shop some grocery for his home, complaining with frowned eyes?

Those who violate the rate lists, their shops must immediately be closed down & necessary law must seem active imposing heavy fine to stop the evil of profiteering.

There must be arrangement from local authority at ‘’SOCIAL MEDIA’’ to lodge the complaints against such Shopkeepers robbing the customers – charging exorbitant prices of groceries, flesh, vegetable and fruits.

Please make a portal at Facebook & Tweeter to report the complaints about SHOPKEEPERS, asked the frenzied group of buyers, seemingly seen shouting with shopkeepers in Ramadan.
